A prominent figure in Kogi State politics, QS Aminu Suleiman Abubakar, has declared his intention to run for the Kogi East senatorial seat.

The former governorship aspirant will be contesting under the platform of the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC), a move his close associates say is the result of a strategic and calculated series of consultations.

Sources close to Abubakar revealed to OBSERVERS TIMES that extensive engagements with critical political stakeholders across the Kogi East senatorial district have confirmed his strength and comparative advantage for the Senate.

The decision is a direct response to the groundswell of support and encouragement he received during these consultations, solidifying his belief that this is the best political office to realize his vision for the people.

“His journey has been one of learning and growth,” a close associate stated. “His previous attempt at the governorship in 2019 served as a crucial lesson in navigating the state’s political terrain.

He is now applying those lessons to a race where his potential is undeniable.”

The Abubakar camp is also calling for clarity and a unified front. “We appeal to the public to seek clarification from him before giving any credence to baseless and fabricated stories,” the source urged.

“We equally call on our supporters to remain calm and not to be drawn into any issues. He is a man of vision, and he is confident that he will be the man to beat in this senatorial contest.”

With the ADC as his new political home, Abubakar is poised to be a formidable contender in the race, aiming to provide strong and effective representation for the people of Kogi East.
