Vitel Wireless has rolled out a new nationwide communication service aimed at helping organisations cut costs and manage their teams more efficiently. The launch, held on Tuesday, pulled in business owners, industry players, and tech enthusiasts who came to see how the company’s system blends traditional GSM features with modern cloud-based technology.

At the event, the Executive Chairman of Vitel Wireless, Engr Kenneth Nwabueze, described the platform as more than a communication tool. He called it “a growth engine for businesses,” stressing that many organisations spend far too much on communication and struggle with coordinating their staff.

He said the new service gives companies — whether small or large — a cheaper and more secure alternative.

“We understand the challenges small and large enterprises face in managing communication costs and team coordination. Our network provides an affordable solution that combines smart technology with security and scalability. Whether you’re a logistics company, school, hospital, or startup, Vitel connects your people, protects your operations, and empowers your growth,” he said.

One of the major features introduced is Vitel’s Closed User Group, which allows organisations to connect up to 50 workers on one private network with free internal calls and SMS. The package also comes with discounted data, 24/7 auto-attendant, staff extensions, and digital safety tools powered by Vitel’s SecureMe and Oga-App platforms.

The company explained that the system also supports international calls at cheaper rates, making it easier for SMEs and bigger firms to reach customers outside Nigeria.

Vitel’s Head of Product Marketing, Chiobi Ben Odera, said the company is deploying advanced technology across the country to help teams work smarter and safer.

“It’s about helping teams communicate better and perform better. Every business today needs to be smarter, safer, and more connected. With our Closed User Group and Location Awareness Technology, companies can now streamline internal communication, improve productivity, and project a more professional image while saving costs,” he said.

He added that the Location Awareness Technology combines three tools — SecureMe, Oga-App, and Location-Based Services giving organisations real-time visibility over their staff, assets, and logistics.

Guests also saw a live demo of SecureMe, a user-controlled safety feature that tracks movement only when turned on, and Oga-App, which verifies staff attendance using GPS and automatically generates performance reports.
