ABUJA — A man wearing an All Progressives Congress (APC) branded shirt staged a brief protest at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Thursday, holding a placard that read “Reward me or kill me” and accusing the party of abandoning him after he sold his house to work on its 2023 election campaigns.

A roughly 30‑second vertical video of the incident, which began circulating on Facebook on Thursday night and was widely shared on X, shows the man pacing in front of the secretariat gate in daylight while security personnel and bystanders watched and recorded on their phones.

“I sold my house because of the debt I seemed to owe APC. Because of the work I worked for APC,” he says in the footage. When asked who sent him, he pointed to his shirt and replied, “These are the people that sent me.”

He told the camera that he had no money left to pay his children’s school fees and had left them with the party’s chief security officer (CSO) because he could no longer provide for them. He also alleged that the CSO had threatened to shoot him.

The banner the man carried read in full: “All Progressives Congress. Reward me or kill me. I’m a party man and not a lunatic. I have lost so much for the party. I am depressed and my health is affected.”

No APC official emerged to speak with the man during the protest, according to the video. Social media reactions were largely unsympathetic, with many users mocking his expectation of personal rewards for partisan work.

The APC had not issued a statement on the incident as of the time of filing. Attempts to reach the party for comment were unsuccessful.
