The residence of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, has reportedly been struck in what sources describe as a joint military operation involving the United States and Israel, marking a sharp and potentially dangerous escalation in regional tensions.
Initial reports suggest that four military jets were involved in the operation, though officials from Washington and Tel Aviv have not publicly confirmed the strike. Iranian state media has yet to release a comprehensive statement detailing the extent of the damage or whether Khamenei was present at the residence at the time.
The reported strike comes amid heightened hostilities between Iran and Israel, with the United States increasingly drawn into the volatile standoff. Analysts warn that a direct attack on the residence of Iran’s Supreme Leader — the country’s highest political and religious authority — would represent a significant departure from previous engagements, potentially triggering a broader regional conflict.
Security sources cited by regional outlets described the operation as “highly coordinated,” though independent verification remains limited. Air defence systems were reportedly activated in parts of Tehran shortly after the alleged strike.
Iranian officials have previously warned that any direct assault on its leadership would be met with “decisive and overwhelming” retaliation. Neither the Pentagon nor the Israeli military has issued immediate comment.
