Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), under the Joint Task Force North East, have achieved a significant victory in Borno State’s ongoing fight against terrorism.

On November 9, 2025, soldiers from the 135 Special Forces Battalion, Sector 2 OPHK, engaged Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists near Dutse Kura following intelligence on abductions along the Buratai–Kamuya Road. The troops successfully foiled the terrorists’ ambush and pursued them towards Mangari, where a follow-up encounter forced the insurgents to retreat.

During the operation, military personnel discovered 11 makeshift insurgent camps and rescued 86 civilians—men, women, and children—who had been kidnapped. Confiscated equipment included one AK-47 rifle, five magazines with 73 rounds, four PKT ammo belts, five civilian vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and two logistics tricycles. The terrorists’ camp was destroyed after thorough clearance.

In a related mission, forces at Mangada apprehended 29 terrorist logistics suppliers en route to Chilaria. Seized items comprised two pickup trucks and a tricycle loaded with Premium Motor Spirit, approximately 1,000 liters of petrol in jerricans, engine oil, new gun truck tires, medical supplies, and a large quantity of food provisions.

All operations were executed without any casualties among the troops.

The Military High Command praised the gallantry and professionalism of the soldiers and urged Operation HADIN KAI to persist in its efforts to curtail terrorists’ movements and secure peace across the North East region.
