Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening critical infrastructure, including rail connectivity and power sector reforms, as part of efforts to drive economic development.
Speaking at the State House during a meeting with stakeholders from Enugu State, led by Governor Peter Mbah, Tinubu acknowledged concerns raised over key projects such as the Port Harcourt–Enugu rail line and the broader challenges within the power sector.
“On the matter you raise… I have taken note and will do more,” the president said, signalling a willingness to accelerate ongoing reforms and infrastructure investments.
Tinubu emphasised that transport networks and stable electricity supply remain central to unlocking Nigeria’s economic potential, describing them as the backbone of sustainable growth.
The meeting comes amid increasing calls from regional leaders and industry stakeholders for renewed focus on infrastructure to stimulate trade, improve connectivity and support industrialisation.
