Tinubu Joins African Dignitaries at Ghana President’s Inauguration

President Bola Tinubu, along with former Nigerian leaders Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, attended the inauguration of Ghana’s new president, John Mahama on January 7th, 2025 in Accra. Mahama, who previously served as Ghana’s president, returned to office after succeeding Nana Akufo-Addo in 2017.

A groundbreaking moment at the ceremony was the swearing in of Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as Ghana’s first female vice president. Tinubu, in his address, expressed Nigeria’s support for Mahama’s leadership and called for unity among African nations.

Mahama, in his inaugural speech, thanked Tinubu and other dignitaries for their presence and pledged to deepen ties within ECOWAS for regional prosperity. The event highlighted the bond between Ghana and Nigeria, showcasing a vision of unity and progress for the West African region.
