Solomon Dalung, Nigeria’s former Minister of Sports, has sparked controversy with a scathing critique of President Bola Tinubu, describing him as a “dwarf in Nigerian political history.”

Speaking in a recent interview, Dalung argued that Tinubu’s leadership falls short when compared to prominent historical figures such as Sir Ahmadu Bello (Sardauna of Sokoto) and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, two leaders widely regarded for their enduring impact on Nigeria’s political landscape.

Dalung’s remarks have reignited debates over the country’s current leadership and the legacy of its founding political figures, with many social media users and political analysts weighing in on the provocative statement.

The former minister did not elaborate on policy issues but emphasised that comparisons between Tinubu and Nigeria’s legendary leaders are, in his view, unjustified.
