Sokoto, Nigeria – The Theatre Commander Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma, Major General Oluyinka Soyele, has reaffirmed the readiness of troops to confront the Lakurawa terrorist group operating along the Nigeria-Niger border.
During an operational visit to the tactical headquarters of the DHQ Special Operations Brigade in Balle, Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Friday, General Soyele emphasized the importance of unwavering commitment from troops engaged in Operation Flush Lakurawa Out.
He underscored the paramount importance of maintaining Nigeria’s territorial integrity, describing it as “non-negotiable.” General Soyele urged the troops to remain vigilant and resolute in their efforts to dismantle the influence of the criminal group, which poses a significant threat to peace and security in the border communities.
Recognizing the crucial role of community support, General Soyele appealed to local residents to actively cooperate with security forces. He stressed that a strong partnership between the troops and the community is essential for enhancing operational effectiveness and fostering a united front against terrorism.
General Soyele emphasized that intelligence sharing and community cooperation are fundamental to effectively addressing the challenges posed by insurgency and ensuring long-term peace in the region. He expressed confidence that through clear communication and collaborative efforts, the mission to flush out the Lakurawa group will not only restore security but also facilitate a stable environment conducive to community development and prosperity.
