Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to implementing policies that prioritise the welfare and security of citizens, insisting that President Bola Tinubu’s administration remains focused on improving lives despite economic challenges.

Speaking through his media team on Friday, Shettima said the government’s policy direction is guided by the principle of inclusive growth, ensuring that no section of the population is left behind in the ongoing national reforms.

“We will continue to push policies that protect our people and strengthen their capacity to thrive,” the Vice President stated. “Our mission is to build a nation where every citizen can feel the positive impact of government decisions.”

Shettima emphasised that the administration’s reforms in agriculture, energy, and social investment programmes are designed to cushion the impact of recent economic adjustments, particularly following the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of the exchange rate.

He further noted that the government is working closely with state governors and development partners to create jobs, expand access to credit for small businesses, and enhance food security across the country.

Political observers see Shettima’s remarks as part of a broader effort by the Presidency to reassure Nigerians amid rising concerns over the cost of living and insecurity in several regions.

The Vice President urged citizens to remain patient and supportive, saying that ongoing reforms would lay a stronger foundation for sustainable national growth.

“Nation-building requires sacrifice and collaboration,” he added. “The policies we are pursuing today are investments in Nigeria’s future.”
