The Senate on Thursday formally dissociated itself from the warrant of arrest issued against Mele Kyari, the former Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, by its Committee on Public Accounts.
The upper legislative chamber also distanced itself from controversial remarks made by Senator Adams Oshiomhole (Edo North) during the committee’s hearing on Wednesday. Oshiomhole had reportedly characterized the state-owned oil firm as a “bunch of criminals and thieves.”
