Senator Sunday Karimi, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District, on Saturday, 27 September 2025 visited men and officers of the Nigerian Police Force’s Isanlu Division to commiserate over the recent deaths of two officers who died in the line of duty.
Sen. Karimi urged personnel to remain strong and patriotic during this difficult period, and said concerted efforts are ongoing to flush out criminal elements from the area. He reiterated the commitment of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to securing the nation and said that the work of other tiers of government to protect lives would soon be felt.
The senator told officers that he met with the Inspector General of Police on Friday, 26 September, and that plans were advancing to provide additional equipment to the force to better tackle prevailing security challenges.
As a gesture of compassion and to help alleviate the immediate hardship faced by the bereaved families, Sen. Karimi made financial donations to the families of the deceased officers.
He was accompanied on the visit by the Chairman of Yagba East Local Government, Mr. Dare Joshua, and other local stakeholders. The delegation called for continued cooperation between communities and security agencies to strengthen local security and support law enforcement personnel.
