•• Kingdom Reiterates Stance: No Normalization with Israel Without an Independent Palestine with East Jerusalem as Capital.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has emphatically reaffirmed its steadfast position on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment, highlighting the clear and unequivocal pronouncements of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Crown Prince’s pronouncements, both at the Shura Council opening on September 18, 2024, and during the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh on November 11, 2024, underscored Saudi Arabia’s dedication to this cause. His Royal Highness emphasized that the Kingdom will continue its tireless efforts to achieve an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, making it clear that diplomatic relations with Israel will not be established without this crucial condition being met.
The statements reiterated the demand for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands and the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. The Crown Prince also called upon more nations to recognize the State of Palestine and urged the international community to bolster support for Palestinian rights, as enshrined in UN General Assembly resolutions, including Palestine’s eligibility for full UN membership.
Saudi Arabia further denounced any infringement on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including Israeli settlement policies, land annexation, and attempts to displace Palestinians from their homeland. The Kingdom stressed the international community’s responsibility to alleviate the severe humanitarian crisis facing the Palestinian people, who, it affirmed, will remain steadfast on their land.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this position is non-negotiable and not subject to compromise. Saudi Arabia underscored that lasting and just peace is unattainable without the Palestinian people realizing their legitimate rights in accordance with international resolutions, a point that has been consistently communicated to both previous and current U.S. administrations.
