Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has confirmed that he held a meeting with President Bola Tinubu alongside his deputy, Governor-elect Siminalayi Fubara. The governor stated that the meeting aimed to discuss critical matters concerning the state’s administration and ongoing projects.
In a statement on Tuesday, Wike instructed the Rivers State House of Assembly to “do the needful,” urging lawmakers to take necessary steps in line with the discussions held at the presidential level.
The meeting underscores ongoing coordination between the outgoing and incoming state leadership and the federal government, signalling efforts to ensure a smooth transition and continued development in Nigeria’s oil-rich south.
