Rivers State’s long-running political feud may have cooled a notch after President Bola Tinubu huddled with the warring camps late Monday night at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The Nation reports that Tinubu sat down with Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other state heavy-weights. What exactly was said hasn’t leaked, but the paper claims that, once the talks ended, Fubara rode with Wike back to the minister’s Guzape residence—an outing that ended with the governor reportedly apologising and promising “never to disrespect” his predecessor again.
