The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Remi Oseni, has warned that anyone who attempts to rig his election or disrupt the process could face deadly consequences.
Oseni spoke on Sunday during an interactive session with youth members of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) in Ibadan.
He said several religious leaders had prayed with him and prophesied about his political success, adding that he did not believe he could be rigged out of the election after receiving such assurances.
Oseni also warned against the use of violence or the destruction of polling units.
“The Bible says, ‘The steps of the righteous are ordered by God.’ If God orders our steps, we’ll be where we are supposed to be,” he said.
“If anybody carries guns or cutlasses to destroy any polling booth during the election, you will not live long. I can tell you, I’m speaking from the altar. Whoever does that can never live long.
“If you want to dismiss all these prophecies and revelations from people who have spoken the mind of God, no problem. But if you rig, you can’t live long.
“One thing I know for certain is this: if you rig my election, they will do burial in your house. If you rig my election, call me a bastard if they don’t do burial in your house.”
Oseni is expected to face competition from Chief Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Hon. Adedeji Stanley Olajide, popularly known as Odidiomo, of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
The race is expected to draw considerable attention as candidates seek support across the nine local government areas in the senatorial district.
