The Coalition of Nasarawa South Residents, in a strong expression of displeasure over constant power outages, is set to protest and demand restoration and adequate supply of electricity to all consumers.

This follows the deplorable state of power supply in Lafia and environs, despite numerous complaints and promises.

The electricity situation has continued to deteriorate, causing immense hardship to residents.

The residents of Nasarawa South are peacefully notifying authorities of their intention to stage a protest on Monday, March 2nd, 2026, to highlight their frustration with the epileptic power supply.

Ibrahim Attama Abdullahi, the convener, made this known to journalists on Thursday through a statement he appended.

The protest, according to him, will start at 9:00 am, beginning at Lafia Town (Al-Imam Junction) and proceeding to the Government House, Lafia.

“The residents demand immediate and concrete actions to address the power crisis, including the provision of adequate power supply, maintenance of existing infrastructure, and transparency in the management of power resources,” he said.

He added, “The DSS, Nasarawa State Command, and other sister agencies are hereby notified to ensure the safety and security of the protesters and the general public during the protest.”
