The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) suggest that the party is considering a joint ticket featuring former governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Samuel Ortom.
According to unconfirmed reports, the former Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, is being tipped as the party’s presidential candidate. Paired with him is said to be the former Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, who is reportedly being considered as his running mate.
Both men were prominent members of the “G5” group, a bloc of five PDP governors who campaigned against the party’s official presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, insisting that the presidency should be zoned to the South.
If the internal discussions within the PDP materialize, the Ugwuanyi-Ortom ticket would present a new front for the party as it seeks to reclaim the presidency. The development remains a subject of widespread speculation and has not been officially confirmed by either the party leadership or the former governors.
