ABUJA — The political landscape in Rivers State shifted further toward the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, as six members of the House of Representatives formally dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The defectors include Dumnamere Dekor, Solomon Bob, Hart Cyril, Victor Obuzor, Blessing Amadi, and Felix Nweke. The move is widely seen as a consolidation of power following Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s own high-profile defection to the APC on December 5.
This latest development brings the total number of Rivers state and federal lawmakers joining the ruling party to 21 within the last month, effectively hollowing out the PDP’s structure in the state.
