The All Progressives Congress (APC) says it will not rush to congratulate Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke following the outcome of the state governorship election.
The Director-General of the APC campaign council said the party would wait for the official declaration and carefully assess the results before making any decision on its next step.
The statement comes amid heightened expectations over the outcome of the election, with results from polling units and collation centres being closely monitored by the parties and their supporters.
The campaign director-general urged party members and supporters to remain calm, saying the APC would rely on the official process rather than react prematurely to emerging figures.
He said the party would make its position known once the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) completes the collation and formally declares the winner.
The development follows a closely watched election in Osun, where Governor Adeleke is seeking another term in office.
The APC has challenged some aspects of the electoral process, while the Adeleke camp has maintained confidence in its performance.
INEC is expected to announce the final result after the completion of the collation exercise.
For now, the APC says it will wait for the official outcome before deciding whether to congratulate Adeleke or pursue other options available under the law.
