Former Inspector-General of Police, Sir Mike Okiro (retd.), has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, praising what he described as steady leadership and measurable progress in national security and economic reforms.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja on Monday, Okiro said the President had demonstrated resolve in confronting long-standing challenges, particularly in security coordination and institutional reforms. He noted that early policy decisions and ongoing restructuring efforts showed a clear direction for governance.

According to the former police chief, continuity would allow the administration to consolidate gains already recorded, deepen reforms and stabilise key sectors of the economy. He urged political leaders and citizens to support policies aimed at strengthening institutions and improving service delivery.

Okiro also commended the Federal Government’s engagement with security agencies, arguing that enhanced inter-agency cooperation and investment were beginning to yield results. He called for sustained public support to ensure lasting impact.

The endorsement adds to a growing list of public figures expressing confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership as discussions around the 2027 general elections gradually gather momentum.
