The African Democratic Congress has set up a 50-member policy and manifesto committee, with former APC national chairman and ex-Edo governor John Odigie-Oyegun as chair.
National publicity secretary Bolaji Abdullahi said in a statement that the group must “spell out a clear, coherent and credible policy direction that mirrors what Nigerians want and shows ADC as a real alternative for responsible leadership and national renewal.”
Economist and political commentator Pat Utomi will serve as deputy chair, while ex-APC spokesperson Salihu Lukman takes the secretary’s slot.
Other members include human-rights lawyer Chidi Odinkalu and former minister of state for the FCT John Akpan Udo-Udeghe.
Senator David A. B. Mark, the party’s national chairman, approved the panel “as part of ADC’s drive to build a credible, people-centred and forward-looking policy framework for governing the country,” the statement said.
The team draws on ex-public officers, academics, technocrats, policy specialists, civil-society leaders and professionals, pooling decades of experience in governance, economic management, social development, security and democratic reform.
