Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate and former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, on Sunday met separately with ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rasheed Ladoja, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Although details of the closed-door discussions were not disclosed, the visits are widely interpreted as part of Obi’s early consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a Facebook post, Obi confirmed he was accompanied by key Labour Party figures, including campaign spokesman Yunusa Tanko, Lagos 2023 governorship candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, and Segun Adebanjo. He described the meetings as platforms to deliberate on national issues while stressing the need for unity, fairness, and justice in Nigeria.
Obasanjo, who openly endorsed Obi during the 2023 presidential race, remains a significant voice in Nigeria’s political landscape.
