Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has lifted the suspension of 81 government officials who were earlier sanctioned for failing to attend a key state function.
A statement issued on Tuesday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr Monday Uzor, directed the affected officials to return to work without delay.
“The affected commissioners, senior special assistants, special assistants and permanent secretaries are to resume official duties immediately,” Uzor stated.
Those recalled include the Attorney General, 25 commissioners, 22 permanent secretaries, 14 senior special assistants and 24 special assistants. All were barred from signing official documents and denied their salaries throughout the suspension period, which took effect from July 28.
