Senator Abdulaziz Yar’Adua, representing Katsina Central, has firmly denied rumors of his departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC), calling the claims “speculative and mischievous.”
In a statement released on Sunday, the senator reaffirmed his “unwavering commitment and support” for the ruling party. He urged the press to disregard headlines suggesting his defection.
Yar’Adua also sought to clarify that not everyone with the family name shares a political connection with him, accusing some media outlets of deliberately creating confusion.
As the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army and the Northern Senators Forum, Yar’Adua stated his dedication to working with the Senate leadership to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s legislative reforms. He praised the Tinubu administration for increasing allocations to subnational governments, investing in critical infrastructure like agriculture and roads, and strengthening the nation’s security.
“We must rally behind the president to ensure his reforms yield real benefits for the ordinary Nigerian,” he said.
The senator concluded by vowing to continue working with APC leaders to advance national unity and development.
