Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Pantami, has revalidated his membership of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party continues its nationwide electronic registration and revalidation exercise.
Pantami completed the process on Tuesday in his home state, reaffirming his loyalty to the APC and describing the exercise as a critical step towards strengthening internal democracy within the party.
Speaking after revalidating his membership, the former minister praised the APC leadership for embracing technology-driven reforms, saying the e-registration initiative would enhance transparency, improve data accuracy and deepen grassroots participation.
“The digital revalidation process reflects our commitment to innovation and good governance. It is important that party members fully participate to build a stronger and more inclusive APC,” Pantami said.
The APC’s ongoing e-registration drive is part of efforts to update its membership database ahead of future electoral contests, with party leaders urging members nationwide to take part.
Pantami, a former director-general of Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), served as Minister of Communications and Digital Economy between 2019 and 2023, where he led several reforms aimed at expanding broadband penetration and accelerating Nigeria’s digital economy.
Party officials say the e-registration exercise will continue across all states in the coming weeks, as the APC moves to consolidate its base and prepare for upcoming political engagements.
