The Nigeria Police Force has summoned Pastor Abraham Daniel, a former minister at Dunamis International Gospel Centre, for questioning regarding serious allegations, including criminal defamation, cyberbullying, and forgery. This invitation follows Pastor Daniel’s public accusations against Pastor Paul Enenche, the founder and Senior Pastor of the church, claiming that Enenche breached a gentleman’s agreement between them.
The police invitation was issued by DCP Alhassan Kawu Yahaya on behalf of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Force Intelligence Department (FID), Abuja. The letter, dated January 3, 2025, states, “In furtherance of investigations into the case of Cyber-Bullying, Criminal Defamation, Injurious Falsehood, Making False Publication/Giving False Information, and Inciting Public Nuisance, the need for some clarifications from you has become imperative.”
Pastor Daniel is requested to report for an interview at the FID Complex in Abuja on January 7, 2025, at 1 PM, and is advised to bring an attorney if he wishes.
In a recent interview with SaharaReporters, Pastor Daniel alleged that Pastor Enenche and the church management failed to honor a “gentleman’s agreement” regarding the replacement of his 2004 Corolla vehicle, which was reportedly damaged in 2020. Daniel claims the damage occurred when he was allegedly followed by Enenche, who accused him of blackmailing both the pastor and the church.
Daniel has previously accused Enenche of orchestrating his imprisonment on fabricated charges after he publicly criticized the pastor on Facebook and left the church. He asserts that this led to significant personal losses, including his business and his family, as his wife left him along with their five children, allegedly influenced by the church.
After resigning from his pastoral position, Daniel faced accusations of embezzling church funds, which were propagated through a post sponsored by the church on Nairaland and other news platforms. He was subsequently detained for three weeks at Suleja Prison, Abuja, following allegations stemming from his Facebook posts about Enenche.
According to Daniel, following his imprisonment, Pastor Enenche agreed to an out-of-court settlement during a meeting at the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department. As part of this agreement, Enenche allegedly promised to replace Daniel’s damaged car.
“It can be called a gentleman’s agreement. When we met at the FCID to withdraw the case, I presented my conditions, and they presented theirs. It was a gentleman’s agreement, without lawyers or formal documentation,” he explained.
Daniel also addressed the alleged blackmail, stating, “I wrote a message at that time (in 2020) because they were interfering in my marriage. My ex-wife was constantly sending church representatives with my children. I told them to stay out of my family matters. I warned that if anything happened to me or my children, they would be responsible.”
He further revealed the struggles his family has faced since the damage to his car, which was essential for supporting his five children. Daniel emphasized that the ongoing refusal of Enenche and the church to honor their agreement has exacerbated their difficulties.
