Major General Shaibu’s appointment is part of a series of changes made by President Tinubu to key security posts. The new appointments include:
• Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede as Chief of Defence Staff (CDS)
• Major General Waidi Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff (COAS)
• Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke as Chief of Air Staff (CAS)
• Rear Admiral I. Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff (CNS)
According to a statement from the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General E.A.P. Undiendeye, retains his position.
