Former Senate President Abba Moro has declared he will not be joining political heavyweights like Atiku Abubakar and David Mark in their move to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Moro stated that while others have chosen to abandon the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to “wrest power” from the ruling government, he and other leaders will remain to “fix it.”
“I am comfortable in the PDP and I have no reason to leave the party now or in the near future,” Moro said. “No matter what people say about the crisis and the division in PDP, we and other leaders of the party will stay behind and fix it.”
Moro went on to say that some of the exits may be a positive development, referring to them as “good riddance to bad rubbish.” He suggested that some of the individuals leaving may have been responsible for the party’s internal crises.
Regarding Atiku’s departure, Moro revealed it was no surprise. He pointed out that Atiku had been noticeably absent from key party functions, including NEC, BoT, and caucus meetings, for several months. Despite the setback, Moro remains confident that the PDP will survive and even get stronger without any single individual.
“The PDP remains strong and will survive without any single individual,” he asserted.
