Human rights activist, Hamdiyya Sidi Sharif, who was declared missing since Tuesday morning, has been found in critical condition at Bakura Hospital in Zamfara State. Her lawyer has confirmed she was abducted, raising serious concerns about her safety.
Barrister Abba Hikima, Sidi’s legal counsel, announced her discovery in a Facebook post on Wednesday, stating that she is currently under the watch of security personnel. He emphasized that the “dire condition” in which she was found strongly indicates an abduction.

Sidi was last seen after leaving her residence to purchase food items in Sokoto town. Extensive efforts to locate her had been unsuccessful until now.

Hikima has urgently appealed to both the Zamfara State government and security agencies to ensure Sidi’s safety and to launch a thorough investigation into her disappearance and current state.
This unsettling development unfolds amidst persistent security challenges plaguing Northwestern Nigeria.
