Professor Mahmood Yakubu has handed over leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to May Agbamuche, who assumes office as Acting National Chairman.
Agbamuche, the commission’s longest-serving National Commissioner, took over on Tuesday following Yakubu’s announcement during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners at INEC’s headquarters in Abuja.
Yakubu called on all commissioners and directors to give their full support to Agbamuche as she steers the commission pending the appointment of a substantive chairman.
