Manchester United have completed the signing of 17-year-old Colombian midfielder Cristian Orozco from Fortaleza CEIF in a deal worth $1 million (approximately £780,000).

The transfer, which was confirmed on Thursday by Italian transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, will see the teenager move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2026 when he turns 18.

Romano disclosed that United’s legal team had approved all contractual documents, with the deal being coordinated by the club’s lead scout, Gerardo Guzmán Antonaccio.

“Manchester United have now sealed and signed a deal to bring in 17-year-old Colombian talent Cristian Orozco. $1m transfer fee from Fortaleza in a deal valid from summer 2026. #MUFC lawyers approved all the contracts, deal coordinated by lead scout Antonaccio,” Romano wrote on X.

Orozco, who operates as a defensive midfielder, currently captains Colombia’s Under-17 national team and has earned recognition for his intensity and leadership qualities on the pitch.

The young midfielder guided his country to the final of the Under-17 South American Championships last year, demonstrating his ability to perform at youth international level.

He has already gained first-team experience with Fortaleza CEIF in Colombia’s domestic league despite his tender age.

The Red Devils have been actively strengthening their youth ranks, with Orozco becoming the latest addition to a growing list of teenage prospects at the club, including recent signings Sekou Kone and Chido Obi-Martin.
