Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has led a high-level state delegation to Kuwait to secure affordable development financing and technical expertise.
The diplomatic and economic mission aimed at attracting strategic partnerships to drive the implementation of the Kogi State Development Plan 2024–2056 a 32-year roadmap designed to transform the state’s infrastructure, economy, and social services.
The mission has successfully established a new development bridge between Kogi State and key Kuwaiti financial and technical institutions. Following successful high-level deliberations, both parties have agreed to move to the next phase, which involves the preparation of priority projects for immediate implementation.
Speaking on the significance of the trip, officials noted that the partnership focuses on obtaining low-interest financing and leveraging Kuwait’s world-class technical expertise to ensure the sustainability of the state’s development goals.

“This mission was about securing the future of Kogi State,” a government spokesperson stated. “By aligning our 2024–2056 development plan with international partners like those in Kuwait, we are ensuring that Kogi has the financial backing and the technical roadmap to become a hub for industrialization and modern infrastructure in Nigeria.”
With the high-level talks concluded, technical teams from both the Kogi State Government and the Kuwaiti institutions are expected to begin work on the ground to finalize the blueprints for specific projects. These projects are expected to span across critical sectors including agriculture, healthcare, education, and urban renewal, all under the umbrella of the state’s 32-year master plan.

The Governor’s delegation included top financial advisors and key members of the State Executive Council, signaling the administration’s commitment to transparency and international best practices in its quest for state-wide transformation.
