After seven months in captivity, a Nigerian man, Yakubu Dada, has been released by gunmen who kidnapped him and his wife last October. Tragically, his wife was reportedly shot and killed by the abductors, who ultimately collected a total of N30 million in ransom from his family.
Dada, a former government employee, and his bride were abducted in October 2024 while traveling on a highway to Kontagora.
Initially, the gunmen demanded a N10 million ransom. However, Dada was not released until Monday, following the payment of an additional N20 million by his family, bringing the total sum handed over to the abductors to N30 million.
