Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has welcomed the return of the Kano State Governor to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the move as a significant political development with far-reaching implications for the ruling party.

In a statement on Sunday, Mr Keyamo said the governor’s decision to rejoin the APC underscored the party’s growing appeal and renewed confidence in its leadership and governance agenda. He noted that Kano, as one of Nigeria’s most politically influential states, plays a critical role in shaping national politics.

According to the minister, the governor’s return would not only strengthen the APC’s foothold in the North-West but also enhance internal unity and strategic positioning ahead of future electoral contests.

Mr Keyamo praised the governor for what he described as “a bold and pragmatic decision”, adding that the APC remained committed to inclusive governance, economic reforms and policies aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians.

He further urged party leaders and members in Kano State to close ranks and work together to consolidate gains, emphasising that unity within the party was essential to delivering good governance and sustaining public trust.

The governor’s defection has continued to generate reactions across the political landscape, with analysts predicting a possible realignment of forces in Kano and beyond as parties begin to recalibrate ahead of upcoming political milestones.
