Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), completing his registration as a party member and receiving his official membership card on Sunday.

The registration ceremony took place at the Government House in Jalingo and was witnessed by several prominent political figures, including the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. John Kizito Bonzena; former Speaker, Rt Hon. Abel Peter Diah; and Hon. Danladi Baido, among others.

Speaking shortly after receiving his APC membership card, Governor Kefas said his decision was driven by the broader interest of governance, political stability and party unity in Taraba State. He stressed that the move would strengthen collaboration and enable him to more effectively pursue his development agenda for the state.

The governor also disclosed that plans for a grand defection ceremony, earlier scheduled for November but postponed due to national security considerations, remain in place and will be announced at a later date.

According to Kefas, formal registration with the APC allows him to fully participate in party activities pending the official public event, reaffirming his commitment to working with party stakeholders to advance good governance and development in Taraba State.
