The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the postponement of its scheduled screening exercise for aspirants vying for national offices ahead of the party’s 2025 National Convention.
The announcement was made public on Monday, October 27, in a statement issued by Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa State. He disclosed that the screening, originally set for Tuesday, October 28, has been postponed by the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the party’s control.
Governor Fintiri stated, “A new date will be communicated once fixed. The NCOC regrets any inconvenience caused by the postponement. All aspirants and members of our party should take note and be guided accordingly.”
He reassured party members that the NCOC remains fully committed to delivering a credible and hitch-free 2025 Elective National Convention, scheduled to hold from Saturday, November 15 to Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The screening exercise was intended to assess all individuals aspiring for national positions ahead of the convention, with the screening committee chaired by Eyitayo Jegede and Mohammed Diri as deputy chairman. The committee was tasked with ensuring a transparent and rule-compliant screening process.
Governor Fintiri, while endorsing the committee, emphasized that the assignment presents a vital opportunity for the committee members to justify the confidence placed in them by the party’s leadership.
Further updates on the rescheduled screening date will be communicated in due course.
