Akure, Ondo State — The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said in a press statement that four suspected bandits were arrested today near Akure Airport following a coordinated security operation.
FAAN said the arrests followed a distress alert reporting suspicious individuals behind the airport perimeter close to the Eleyewo community. Joint Operation Forces — comprising aviation and local security agencies — launched a search of the area. Although some suspects attempted to flee, four individuals were eventually apprehended by the joint security team.
The suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force Area Command for further interrogation, FAAN stated.
