Fire disaster wreck havoc in Masaka market Friday night at about 10 pm leaving residents helpless.
Observers Times gathered and report that the fire incident started from a commercial bathroom in the market and extended to other shops and not too long the entire multi million naira goods of various traders in the market was engulfed in fire.
An eyewitness Haruna Salihu Adam who spoke without correspondent confirmed that the fire incident tripled the last one that occurred in previous years.
According to him, Three persons fainted and were rushed to near by hospital.We were there watching helplessly as no fire service was available to quench the raging fire until about 2 am when almost the whole shops were on fire,those that were not affected are but a few.
” The fire is worst than the one that took place four years ago.it started at a bathroom section of the market,leading to where chickens are sold ,that is to tell you the degree of how far the fire gutted the market,though no life was lost but some traders fainted” He confirmed.
He lamented none availability of. fire service station in the market and Karu a Local Government Area that contributed the highest revenue to the state.
Observers Times report that six years ago Masaka market was engulfed by fire and since then both the state government and the legislators representing the area show no interest in establishing a fire service station in Karu .
