A coalition of civil society organisations in Ondo State has thrown its weight behind Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s ‘OUR EASE Agenda’, describing it as a progressive roadmap for inclusive development.
The Coalition of All Civil Society Organisations in Ondo (CACSOD) praised the governor’s policy blueprint, which focuses on key sectors such as security, urban and rural development, technological innovation, healthcare, agriculture, and education.
In a statement issued in Akure on Thursday, CACSOD chairman Alo Martins emphasised that their support was non-partisan and rooted in a shared commitment to good governance and democratic values.
“The blueprint is clearly addressing core socio-economic issues and laying the foundation for sustainable and inclusive growth across the state,” Martins said.
He reiterated CACSOD’s belief that democracy must be underpinned not only by development but also by strong institutional safeguards to ensure responsible leadership.
The group, however, criticised the recent wave of defections from opposition parties to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ondo State House of Assembly. Martins clarified that their stance was not an attack but a call for political balance and institutional integrity.
“Our statement is not a criticism of any party or leader, but a democratic reminder. We urge the APC and other political actors to uphold the spirit of fair competition and institutional health,” he said.
CACSOD pledged continued support for the OUR EASE Agenda and reaffirmed its commitment to working with all democratic institutions to promote transparency, equity, and sustainable progress in the state.
