Gov Sule to NSUK Management  Relaxes Punishment on Suspended Students

Nasarawa State Governor ,Engineer Abdullahi Sule has appealed to the management of the Nasarawa State University Keffi to as a matter of fairness and with a deep sense of advancing academic pursued to review the suspension meted on some students.

Speaking during the 4th Stakeholders Meeting and the first year anniversary of the institution’s Vice Chancellor Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman on Tuesday.

Governor Sule while on congratulating the Vice Chancellor for putting her best in ensuring that the academic standard of the university progresses.

He said” I want to congratulate you professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman for your inclusive and transformative governance and your performance that is giving the opportunity to do what you have done.

” I most confess that during the time of her appointment as vice Chancellor of this university ,I prayed and hoped that she can do it ,because she is calm,quite and soft.But I didnt know that it is a sweet mother that is taking over from a buffalo soldier.

” Let me also appreciate you your excellency ,senator Abdullahi Adamu orputting up this dream which has become a reality today that we are building upon it” Governor Sule said

Governor Sule in his extensive appreciation ,thanked the Chairman Governing Council of the University,Professor Attahiru Jega and the Chancellor, His Royal Highness ,Dr Shehu Chindo Yamusa111 for their commitment and dedication to the development of the university.

Engineer Sule went to acknowledging the various challenges faced by the institution,but however stated that he knows that the university has all the potential, capacity and all the prospect to be among the leading universities in the country.

Governor Sule also thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for giving his best in ensuring development across the state ,saying his administration has helped in no small measure to fast track development via the fair distributions of federal allocations which has energies infrastructure.

Delivering her one year anniversary in office speech, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman ,said” On this day I was entrusted with the mantle of leadership by the grace of God,the endorsement of our governing council and the appointment by His Excellency the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State and visitor to the university,to lead this great institution.That trust came with the responsibility to transform,to build ,to sustain and inspire.

” Our stands today not only as an academic institution but also as a beacon of hope ,innovation and excellence in our state,in our country ,and increasingly across borders.let me begin by saying that the journey so far has been nothing short of transformative. What we have achieved within one year is not just a testament to my leadership ,it is the result of collective resilience ,unwavering commitment ,and the unrelenting pursuit of our shared vision” Sa’adatu posited.

And reeling out her vision,Professor Sa’adatu averred that the vision is all about charting a path to excellence which is to modernize the infrastructure supporting learning ,teaching ,research and living.

” Let me now present in thematic order the key achievements of our administration within the first year.These are the fruits of shared labour,effective leadership and stakeholders support.

” We have renovated hotels at the main and Pyanku Campuses,improved students welfare and safety through upgrades in plumbing ,electricity works ,fumigation and furnishing.

” Solar boreholes were drilled in strategic areas,constructed the ASR 500 capacity lecture theater ,embarked on 15 KVA Solar power project,upgraded the ICT infrastructure ,constructed road networks of 4.5KM and put to use in Keffi and Lafia campuses.

” We have also procured teaching equipment and furniture under 2024 TETFUND interventions as well as opened a befitting liaison office at Abuja fully integrated to meet 21st Century requirements for liaison and e-learning functions” She added.
