Discussion Comes Amid Heightened Security Operations in Northern Regions*

**Abuja, Nigeria** – General Christopher Musa, the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, met with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa on Monday evening.

The closed-door meeting, which took place in the President’s office, marked the first public interaction between both figures since General Musa’s retirement in October 2025.

General Musa arrived at the State House at approximately 7:03 PM and was escorted into the office by senior security personnel. Although the exact agenda of the discussion remains undisclosed, the meeting occurs at a time of intensified security operations across northern Nigeria.

Recent weeks have seen a rise in security challenges, including the abduction of schoolchildren in Kebbi and Minna, as well as an attack on worshippers in Kwara State. Security agencies have been actively conducting counter-terrorism and anti-kidnapping operations throughout the North-West and North-Central zones.

No official statement has been released regarding the purpose or outcomes of the meeting.
