The Federal Government of Nigeria has opened diplomatic talks with the United States following fresh allegations from American lawmakers accusing Nigeria of involvement in what they describe as “state-backed persecution and genocide against Christians.”
Government officials say the engagement aims to clarify Nigeria’s position and address the concerns raised by the US legislators.
