In a resounding endorsement of President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has praised the significant advancements made in Abuja over the past two years, labeling them as “unprecedented.”

Wike made these remarks during a tour of ongoing infrastructure projects in the capital on Thursday, ahead of the celebrations marking President Tinubu’s second anniversary in office. He expressed his appreciation for the rapid progress and quality of work underway, crediting Tinubu’s dedication to the transformation of the FCT.

“I am truly impressed by the achievements of Mr. President, especially in the FCT. This level of progress is unprecedented. Tinubu has excelled, and this is visible throughout the nation. Many Nigerians are already advocating for him to continue serving,” Wike stated.

The minister noted that under Tinubu’s guidance, Abuja has undergone remarkable changes, evolving from a previously neglected capital into a vibrant, modern city.

“Just yesterday, I spoke the truth: those of us who once criticized the capital for its inefficiencies are now acknowledging that Abuja is functioning effectively. Who is responsible for this turnaround? It is Mr. President,” he remarked.

Wike reiterated his commitment to fulfilling the President’s vision of making Abuja a source of pride for all Nigerians.

During his inspection, Wike highlighted several key projects nearing completion, including the fully completed left-wing service lane of the Outer Southern Expressway from Apo to Wassa Junction, which will feature streetlights to enhance security, thanks to a proposal from the China Geo-Engineering Corporation (CGC).

Additional projects under review include the N20 Interchange, designed to connect Wole Soyinka Way with the Murtala Mohammed Expressway (commonly known as the Kubwa Expressway), and the access road from Obafemi Awolowo Way to the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal in Dakibiyu District—both set for imminent completion and inauguration.

“Residents of Abuja deserve nothing but the best,” Wike emphasized. “The contractors are dedicated to their work, and I am committed to ensuring that we deliver high-quality infrastructure.”

He also highlighted President Tinubu’s unwavering focus on maintaining the highest standards in governance and infrastructure development.

“The improvements in our roads and infrastructure are extraordinary, and we will continue to build on this momentum,” Wike added.

In closing, he urged FCT residents to actively support the administration by fulfilling their civic duties, emphasizing that their cooperation is vital for sustainable development in both the capital and the nation at large.
