An FCT High Court in Maitama has ordered Jordan Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to produce his American international passport before the court.
Justice Sylvanus Oriji issued the order on Tuesday during a resumed hearing in a suit filed against the defendant by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Ltd.
The claimants, represented by counsel Hamza Dantani, requested the production of the passport after the defendant testified during cross-examination that he was outside Nigeria on September 26, 2025.
The suit (CV/008/2026) stems from allegations that the claimants entered into a business relationship with the defendant after meeting him in London. According to the claimants, they later approached Jordan in Abuja for assistance in acquiring 30 hectares of land in both Katampe and Guzape.
The claimants allege that Jordan demanded $2.1 million in “facilitation fees”—$2 million purportedly for his father and $100,000 for himself. They claim the funds were delivered on September 26, 2025, in the presence of witnesses including Adamu Sani, Aliyu Sarki, and Sai Wani, while the defendant was accompanied by Onor Sandy.
The claimants further allege that after receiving the payment, Jordan failed to facilitate the land acquisition or return the funds, eventually becoming unreachable.
During Tuesday’s proceedings, Jordan, represented by Ogwu Onoja (SAN), adopted his statement on oath, in which he denied the allegations. Under cross-examination, he denied knowledge of the claims and documents presented by the plaintiffs.
At the request of the claimants’ counsel, which was not opposed by the defense, Justice Oriji also ordered Jordan to provide five samples each of his full name and signature on a plain sheet of paper.
When questioned regarding his whereabouts on September 26, 2025, Jordan maintained that he was out of the country, stating he had traveled using his American passport. Following his admission that he could produce the document, the court granted the claimants’ application compelling him to present it.
Justice Oriji adjourned the matter until Wednesday for the continuation of the hearing.
