Dr. Folashade Olabanji-Oba, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government Area, has emphasised the importance of empowering young people, particularly young women, for Nigeria’s future prosperity.

Speaking at the Lagos State APC Women Summit, themed “Arise, Aspire, and Ascend,” held in Ikeja, Lagos, Dr. Olabanji-Oba stressed that focusing on youth development is key to a stronger, more sustainable Nigeria. “Building the youth is everyone’s responsibility. We must help them understand their importance as the future leaders of this country,” she asserted.

She underscored the vital role of empowering girls and young adults, describing it as foundational for a brighter, safer, and more prosperous Nigeria. “This event is about catching them young and inspiring the girl-child to ensure Nigeria becomes one of the greatest nations on earth. We are well-endowed — God has blessed us,” Olabanji-Oba said, reflecting on Nigeria’s vast potential.

Further commending the efforts of the APC women’s leadership, she stated, “There is a reason we say Lagos leads and other states follow,” praising their unwavering commitment to progress.

Olabanji-Oba also expressed her full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, highlighting his vision and dedication to advancing the country.

“The confidence party members have in President Tinubu is well placed,” she noted, reiterating her belief in his ability to guide the nation toward greater success.
