The Elerin of Erin-Ile, His Royal Majesty Oba Jimoh Adebowale Adesoye Adetona I, has reaffirmed the commitment of his people to support the Nigerian Army in its ongoing efforts to combat banditry and criminal activities in Kwara South.
The monarch made the pledge during the third day of a free medical outreach organized by the Army’s Department of Civil-Military Affairs in Erin-Ile, Kwara State.
Describing the Nigerian Army as a “friendly force” that prioritizes the welfare of its host communities, Oba Jimoh assured the military leadership that the people of Erin-Ile would continue to provide prayers and maximum cooperation to help troops succeed across the region and the nation.
Representing the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Major General Musa Awwal Etsu-Ndagi, commended the traditional ruler, his chiefs, and the residents for their warm reception and sustained partnership.
Major General Etsu-Ndagi urged the community to maintain its support by providing timely and credible information to assist security forces in responding swiftly to threats.
The outreach, conducted as part of the Army’s non-kinetic operations to strengthen civil-military relations, provided free medical services to over 500 residents. The services included medical consultations, dental treatment, laboratory tests, general check-ups, free medications, and the distribution of insecticide-treated mosquito nets.
A key highlight of the event was the symbolic administration of deworming medication to local children by Major General Etsu-Ndagi alongside the Elerin and his Queen.
The event was attended by community leaders and notable retired military officers, including Navy Captain L.K. Jimoh (Rtd), Colonel Oladele Babajamu (Rtd), and Major Sam Adewumi (Rtd).
