First Lady of Nigeria,Senator Oluremi Bola Tinubu has assured the Nigeria Child of government maximum support ,encouraging them to dream big as the sky is their limit.
She stated this on Saturday during the Commissioning Ceremony of NANA BERRY ORPHANAGE HOME, in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State .
The first Lady was the key note speaker and Special Guest of Honour in the event ,averred that the Commissioning of the the newly constructed and furnished NANA BERRY Orphanage Home is a testament of what compassion and empathy can birth,adding that this moment is the demonstration of collaboration and commitment for the well-being of the must vulnerable children in the society .
- I first learnt about the plight of children of NANA BERRY Orphanage Home ,while watching an interview the founder of NANA BERRY Orphanage Home ,Mrs Aisha Nkume granted on NTA in the early part of 2023.Although we were just still at the early stage of registering The Renewed Hope Initiative.I then asked some of my team members to locate the orphanage and asses the situation.
” Their report revealed the condition in which over 200 children were living,and as a mother I knew I had to act.,after all the reason we established the Renewed Hope Initiative is to improved the lives of families in Nigeria Our first response was provided essential food and supplies and later in the year 2023,we invited about 70 children from the home to our first State House Christmas Party.It was because of this experience we decided from then on to invite children from orphanage homes around the FCT to our 2024 Christmas Party” Oluremi posited .
She further stated that above that she knew that a more sustainable intervention was necessary to provide the children with a safe ,comfortable and a nurturing environment they can call a home, expressing delight that the dream has been actualized.
Senator Oluremi extend her heartfelt gratitude to the governor of Nasarawa State, Engr Abdullahi Sule for his generous donation of the land and ensuring that the Certificate of Occupancy was provided promptly.” Your commitment to the welfare of children of Nasarawa State is commendable.This project also reflect the commitment of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the wellbeing and development of the Nigeria children irrespective of their backgrounds ” She added.
And speaking on behalf of the governor of Nasarawa State , Engr Abdullahi Sule ,the deputy governor Dr Emmanuel Akabe said the event is very important and epoc making ceremoney.He warmly welcomed the first Lady of the country ,describing her as the mother of Nigeria , a mother to all mothers and a mother that exhumes love all the time and very time,adding that she is loving,lovable and caring.
The governor also thank the SDGs for constructing the facility ,he said upon his visit recently and discovering that the facility provides accommodations for over 200 children ,where 108 girls and another 108 boys hostels are constructed and staff quarters and administrative block all fitted within, he sees it as not only interesting but take it as a challenge” we want to thank you SDG,because we ve been following your track records and all you have being doing in this country and your support to this present government which is to give hope to the hopeless , because this facility indeed is an epitome of hope” He stated.
Also speaking, the SDGs Chairman princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire,represented by Dr Efyinwa Okeagbu said the project is developed in support of the laudable initiative of the first Lady of Nigeria in providing for the needy ,orphans and the must vulnerable children in Nigeria
She said the project is merely about brick and mutter is a testament to the unwavering commitment of the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu on delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda and ensuring that no one is left behind.
” The capacity to house 118 boys and 118 girls alongside a dormitory ,multipurpose hall ,twin bocks of classrooms and accommodation for staff,fitted for learning and skills development.This facility have access to improved holistic learning environment ” She said.
In a separate interview, the executive Chairman Karu Local Government Area ,Abubakar Madaki Aliyu expressed pleasure with the visit to commission the orphanage home ,pledging to collaborate with the orphanage home to uplift it standard and sustained the development already established by the SDGs .
Hon, Abubakar Madaki thank the first Lady ,Senator Oluremi for her concern towards the plight of the less privilege and must vulnerable children in Nigeria, he also thank Governor Abdullahi Sule for his visionary leadership which has impacted meaning to citizens of Nasarawa State.
