Actress Doyin Kukoyi has addressed persistent rumours linking her romantically and matrimonially to veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo. The speculation reportedly began after a photo shared in 2022 showing the pair together on a film set.
Speaking recently on Seun Oloketuyi’s YouTube channel, Kukoyi explained, “I was at a movie location with Ogogo. We both played the roles of husband and wife where our daughter got married. The two of us took a picture, and I shared it on my social media page. Some people took that picture and started saying that we were married.” She further acknowledged that a joking caption referring to Ogogo as her husband added fuel to the rumours, but she emphasised, “I took the picture with Ogogo because I loved him,” clarifying that her admiration stemmed from respect for his artistry, not romance.
Despite her efforts to set the record straight, Kukoyi reveals that fans and followers “still believe that I’m married to Ogogo” and often message or comment under this mistaken assumption.
Reflecting on her career, Kukoyi highlighted over thirty years in Nollywood, tracing her beginnings to a media role with Daar Communications before fully embracing acting. “I have been in Nollywood for over thirty years, and I thank God for the journey so far,” she said, expressing gratitude for the recognition and platform the industry has provided.
Recently, Kukoyi celebrated a personal milestone by unveiling her new house, thanking God for this achievement and the rewards of her hard work. Fans and colleagues have since offered congratulations on this development.
