The Supreme Leader of the NDC, Senator Seriake Dickson, has reportedly rejected the list of candidates submitted by the party’s Kano State chapter, according to the state’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Waya.

Waya disclosed that the rejected list was composed entirely of members of the Kwankwasiyya movement, a development said to have prompted intervention from the party’s national leadership.

According to him, Senator Dickson subsequently directed Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to implement a 60–40 power-sharing arrangement in the composition of the party’s candidates, with 60 percent allocated to the Kwankwasiyya bloc and the remaining 40 percent reserved for members of the old NDC camp.

The directive is seen as an effort to ensure broader political inclusion and maintain internal balance within the party’s Kano chapter as it moves forward with its organisational and electoral activities.
